I have worked in public education all my adult life. After graduating from JMU with a Masters in Education, I went on to become a Chemistry and English teacher in a High School in Northern Virginia for students with Emotional Disabilities. For a little adventure, my wife and I moved across the country to Portland, Oregon where we lived for several years. There I was lucky enough to be a Special Education teacher working in a Career Pathways school. After a number of years with fifty students or more on my caseload, I switched to teaching technology and then English 9, 10 and 11. As life continued, my wife and I decided to move back East, to raise our family. We currently live in Charlottesville, VA where I am a Special Education teacher, and an RTI specialist.
I am invested in helping teachers become stronger, and students become more skilled. Over my career, I have held a host of jobs: English, Chemistry, Technology teacher; collaborator; mediator; Special Educator.
My pursuit is to help teachers find more time and be more effective.
